I spend a lot of time thinking about what yoga is. The best I can come up with is that Yoga is both a point of view and a set of tools which has been helpful to me. It’s continually helps me recover from injury, relieve stress, think, study and even challenge myself. I love to dive into the complexity of these practices while simultaneously being in awe of their simplicity. From that appreciation I like to teach students to be pragmatic and independent practitioners, both in public classes at my studio - Bow Street Yoga - and in my 1-on-1 teaching. I don’t particularly teaching any one style/brand - though I try to understand the logic behind as many as possible. My approach in simple and builds upon my what I’ve learned from my current teachers - Tom Alden and Barbara Benagh - as well as many other I have met over the years.
